Here is an excerpt from an email I wrote to a friend. She wrote asking about my Coven and some advice on learning more about magic.
“My magic deals first with intuition. When I ignore my intuition I usually end up logicing myself into trouble. My body and higher self know so much more than I will ever be able to reason but If I can listen to my guts I can still benefit. In Buddhism it is known that all beings are divine, at some point we all reach enlightenment and time is not linear so when we find an obstacle we must ask our Buddha-self to show us the way. Which is another way of saying listen to yourself. We are all children of the Goddess and hold our own divinity all we have to do is feed the fire of divinity and starve he shadow.
Some of the best progress I have made has been by listening to my center and changing my self talk. The first part was easier than the latter. It has been a challenge to remove can’t from my mouth. Every word we speak even if it is only in our head is magic. Our spell is what we say and where we put our intention. Can’t cuts off your power before it starts. I am limitless, I can do anything, I am a child of the stars and divinity is my right.
Even in common language with others its not “I can’t do that” it is “I would like to, and need to spend my energy elsewhere right now”. I also try to get rid of “but” since it is a word that negates what was said before.
In my Coven as part of our daily practice we sing an affirmation 3x at our altars every day. It is a way of keeping us all connected even though we are far apart.”

There is a valid scientific theory that the physical universe is a hologram. That this hologram is made of energy of different vibrations. This would make sounds the paint brush of the universe. To me this just proves that science knowledge is always behind spiritual knowledge. Spiritually this lesson has been taught for millennia. Science is only ever trying to catch up. But this is why out thoughts and words have such an affect on the Universe.
